Strengthening Bonds – Ghana Armed Forces and TDC Ghana Ltd Unite for Continued Collaboration

On Wednesday, 21 May 2025, Brigadier General Isaac Paintsil, the new General Officer Commanding Southern Command, led a delegation from the Ghana Armed Forces on a working visit to TDC Ghana Ltd. Having taken up his post just a week earlier, Brigadier General Paintsil was accompanied by Lt. Col. F. Adams, Commanding Officer of 1BN (Michel Camp), and members of his command team.

The purpose of the visit was to formally introduce the new Southern Command leadership to TDC Ghana’s management and reaffirm the long-standing partnership between the two organizations. In his welcome remarks, TDC’s Managing Director, Mr. Courage K. M. Nunekpeku, praised the Southern Command for its “phenomenal support,” especially in resolving land-related challenges. He described the relationship as “excellent,” noting the timely assistance often provided by the 1BN Commander.

Mr. Nunekpeku also assured Brigadier General Paintsil and his team that TDC will continue to rely on—and actively reciprocate—the Armed Forces’ invaluable support whenever possible.

TDC Ghana Explores Staff Housing Partnership with National Banking College

Tema Oil Refinery and TDC Unite to Resolve Land Lease Challenges

A joint six-member committee has been established by Tema Oil Refinery Ltd. (TOR) and TDC Ghana Ltd. to tackle ongoing issues related to TOR’s land lease term and other associated matters. The initiative follows a meeting between TOR’s Acting Managing Director, Mr. Edmond Kombat, and TDC’s Managing Director, Mr. Courage K. M. Nunekpeku, during which they agreed to work together on TOR’s lease renewal concerns.

Committee Composition and Leadership

  • Three representatives from TOR and three from TDC
  • Jointly chaired by:

  • Alhaji Abdul Al-Mumin Yakubu, GM, Finance & Administration, TDC Ghana Ltd.
  • Mr. Peter Doe Adukpo, GM, Finance, TOR Ltd.
  • Other members: Mr. George Opoku Ware Boateng, Mr. Henry Siaw Gyamfi, Mrs. Sarah Donkor, and Mr. Paul Mensah Dela Galley

Terms of Reference

  • Assessing the renewal premium for TOR land leases, including any applicable discounts
  • Reviewing—and if necessary rescinding—the 60-year sublease of part of TOR’s land to GOIL
  • Evaluating ground rent arrears on all properties currently leased by TOR

Minister Adjei Inaugurates TDC Ghana Ltd’s New Board of Directors

The Minister for Works and Housing, Hon. Kenneth Gilbert Adjei, has officially inaugurated the newly appointed Board of Directors of TDC Ghana Ltd. Chaired by Tema East MP Hon. Isaac Odamtten, the Board comprises:

In his address, Minister Adjei congratulated each member on their well-deserved appointment and praised TDC Ghana Ltd for ranking among the country’s top five state enterprises. He urged the company to continue delivering affordable, sustainable housing, to collaborate closely with the Ministry on policy reforms, and to facilitate access to state lands.

The Minister tasked the Board with:

  • =>Partnering with the Managing Director to renew expired leases
  • =>Providing strategic oversight and clear policy direction
  • =>Respecting the separation between governance and day-to-day management

Finally, he emphasized the importance of aligning TDC’s operations with the Ministry’s policies to strengthen accountability and drive impact in Ghana’s housing sector.

 

Give Saglemi Housing Project to TDC Ghana Ltd. for Completion – Hon. Oppong Asamoah

Chairman of Parliament's Select Committee on Works and Housing, Hon. Vincent Oppong Asamoah, has called on the government to hand over the stalled Saglemi Housing Project to TDC Ghana Limited for completion and management.

Hon. Oppong Asamoah led the Committee on a working visit to some of TDC Ghana Ltd's project sites, where he expressed confidence in TDC's proven expertise in delivering national housing projects. "I strongly urge His Excellency the President to give the Saglemi Housing Project to TDC for development. It should not be handed over to private developers," he stated.

During the visit, the Committee assessed ongoing developments at Kpone Affordable Housing Project at Community 26, where TDC is overseeing the construction of 800 housing units. Hon. Oppong Asamoah praised the progress and commended TDC's Ag. Managing Director, Mr. Courage Nunekpeku, for his leadership and commitment to advancing affordable housing.

TDC Ghana Limited has exciting plans ahead, including the launch of a 24-hour service aimed at enhancing public service delivery, as well as the construction of a community centre, a new 15-storey residential building, and the renovation of the TDC Clubhouse.

AGI Tema Branch and TDC Ghana Forge Stronger Partnership for Tema’s Development

On Monday, 28 April 2025, the Tema branch of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) paid a courtesy call on Mr. Courage K. M. Nunekpeku, Managing Director of TDC Ghana Ltd. Led by AGI Tema Chair Dr. Eddie Akwetey, the six-member delegation explored opportunities for mutual engagement to the benefit of AGI members operating in Tema and on TDC’s estates.

Dr. Akwetey appealed to TDC to tap into AGI’s expertise as a catalyst for Tema’s development, stressing the value of closer collaboration. In turn, Mr. Nunekpeku commended AGI for initiating what he described as a “fruitful relationship” and urged members to meet their ground-rent obligations promptly.

Looking ahead, Mr. Nunekpeku announced plans to convene a broad stakeholder forum—co-hosted by TDC and the Tema Metropolitan Assembly—to devise a permanent solution to the city’s sewage challenges.

 

TDC Ghana Ltd Backs Plan B FM Community Soccer Gala.

A delegation from FreeMinds Communication Limited, owners of Plan B FM, recently paid a visit to TDC Ghana Ltd to seek their support for an upcoming Community Soccer Gala.
